Hi everyone , this is the start of a new song project with lyrics and my own vocals . Its really an old song I did back in the mid 1996 using a QY300 I bought new and some old recording gear I also I using at the time .

Anyway I decided to take the song and completely overhaul it from the ground up , the lyrics I'm keeping but the music I have slightly change using my music software .
The lyrics is about drugs found on todays streets, pushers and streets girls and crime , its also a story of how one ends up if your mixed up in all that mess .
This new version has more of a heavy dark rock feel to it , right now this is where I'm at .
A week ago I had my seasonal flu shot and everytime I get the seasonal flu shot I end up feeling like I have a bad cold so I'm not moving too fast on this new song project .
 
My vocals are not the greatest , as most of you know I don't create alot of songs with lyrics and vocal in them but what the hell I'll give it another shot and see what happens .
This is the first verse , I'm still working on it right now . Maybe a synth guitar lead or something might help , the old version had horns in it so I'm sticking with that in some parts of each verse and chorus section .
 
Yes another WIP , its hard to swallow , a bit dark but in reality it really happens on the streets late at night I'm telling it like it is .

Thats weird , the day I posted this startup song project hoping for alittle feedback on the music and the vocal mix my SoundClick link worked fine.

Thanks , I'm sort working with the old version I did back in 1996 trying to capture that groove . The old version had horns in it and this one has it too in part of the verse .
Hopefully it will sound better then the old version when I finish it , today I started on the chorus section and so far it sounds good .

Thanks Frank , working on the chorus section now trying to get it to sound right . So far I'm making some postive progress , going to stop now and take a afternoon break and get back to it late tonight or tommorrow .
Thanks for the feeback on the music and with the vocal track , the mix is important in this song because it needs to sounds strong if that makes any sense .
Its been months of no singing so this song is a good workout for my lungs , after I get most of the song completed I will post it again .

I agree good start.  I t might be my system but the low synth seems to be rumbling a bit in my monitor.  It could be that it's supposed to be that way.  Your voice seems to fit the song.  Keep workin!

Thanks Warren , I'm half way finished with the chorus section now , worked on it for another two hours .
This chest cold isn't helping me but atlease I'm working on it slowly , hope to have the chorus section wrapped up by the end of this week-end .
