After being bombarded by the Rosetta Stone commercials and thinking about the REAL Rosetta Stone (found in ancient Memphis Eygpt) I realized -  there was some prime fodder for a song.  See what ya think.  Thanks for the listen. - Daryl

Rosetta Stone

I never understood the book of love
Its language a complete unknown
But now it all makes sense to me
Since I found Rosetta Stone

I was down in Memphis town
I was on my own and all alone
She caught my eye and it blew my mind
When I saw Rosetta Stone

Chorus:
Rosetta help me solve this mystery
Rosetta show me what I’m missing
Help me find the key

I could never decipher the words of love
I could barely speak or moan
But now the words come easily
Since I found Rosetta Stone

Now I know the secrets of love
Wherever I may roam
My life has been for ever changed
Since I found Rosetta Stone

prime fodder indeed!! those commercials make we wanna vomit as basically all commercials do ;p

great idea and theme to construct a song about.  listening now a few times, gotta say you must have been a Deadhead at one point :)
so much Jerry and Bob in this, as well as Robert Hunter lyrically.  awesome tune. great mix. very cool.

Pure guitar heaven and smooth vocals.  Plus, you really have a way with words.  I'm just listening to the mix in the background at the moment, but nothing but good stands out.  Quit your day job.

I struggle enough w/English. This is classic Daryl. I don't care much for those horn samples. Good singing and good recording though as per usual.

The horns sounded ok, it is just the background. Otherwise, nicely done. Good mix and nice song. It is wonderful sung and played.

Daren - Actually I was never a Dead Head, despite being contemporary with them.  I played a lot of early California rock and was heavy into that whole country rock think back then as well, I just never had much exposure to the Dead.  Thanks.

Lynn - Thanks my friend.   I am going to quit my day job in 31 weeks!!  Yes!!!

Robby - Thanks,  What's a good brass synth??  All I have is general midi and Dim Pro.  I would use more brass, but I need a good synth.  Thanks!

Makke - Thank you and thanks for the listen.

Vincente - Yea, I would like a good horn synth, any suggestions?  Glad you like the song.  I really had fun the Ms. Rosetta Stone thing.  Somewhere there must be a girl named Rosette Stone.

Nice one Daryl.

Melody on the verse is vaguely familar but it's no biggie to me (or Peter Noone ).

Great mix. No crits here.

Nicely mixed Daryl (all of your songs) and your song writing ability is top notch including this one. I'm listening to the rest of your songs (enjoying "Daddy never treats you right & keeping Bad Co."). Well done!
