Not sure if this should be in deals (mods feel free to move).  A lot of discussion has been had on these boards regarding alternatives to pricey software for video.  For those looking for an easy product, keep looking.  This is a professional product that has been used in countless blockbuster movies and has a high learning curve, but worth it.  Black Magic Design, which recently acquired this expensive product, is going the same route with this that they did with Resolve and offering a very powerful version for  free.  The only people who will find themselves limited are those working on 3d and blockbuster movie type workflows that require more advanced group options..  This is NOT a video editor.  This is more similar to After Effects and even saying  that is an insult to Fusion since AE is very much a lightweight in the composting department.  If you ever wanted to take a stab at high end compositing and visual fx but did not have the money:

+1 - I never shelled out for After Effects.

I still have to use AE and there are some things that this is overkill for that AE is probably more efficient for , but I do like the new possibilities this opens.

Have had time to play with this some. Possibly most powerful freebie ever. This is in a league way beyond AE.

I used to own a Black Magic Intensity card....paid a ton for it many years ago..
was a great card...I'll give this a shot as the price most definitely right...

I had one of those too.  Black Magic has been making big moves in recent years.  First they bought one of the major color grading tools.  Then they started making cinema grade cameras and now this.

Ha, I was going to post this too, but you were way ahead of me. I just downloaded it. Looks amazing. I have very little experience with node-based compositing, but nothing wrong with a bit of a challenge. I'm glad this came out b/c I was seriously considering going for MambaFX

I looked at mamba but I was leaning more towards Nuke. Free makes this a no-brainer

3dmus, here is a helpful video for those new to nodes. It uses Nuke, but the same principals apply to most node based compositors:

That's great, thx dubdisciple! Checking it our right now. I've just gone through some of the intro tutorials to Fusion and it starts to make sense :-) Have been doing layer based compositing for years, so takes a bit of time to get used to node-base I suppose.
