...After 20 minutes I still hadn't raised by heart rate high enough for the test. 133 BPM was the target, 120 BPM was all I could manage. Is it just a coincidence that's also the default tempo when you open a new SONAR project?

Ha!  You've been synced to SONAR!

More positives from Sunny Scotland Dave.

My father suffered with angina for years. I always remember on a visit to the doc asked if his heart would kill him one day. Doc said 'how old are you?' '80' my Dad replied. Doc thought for a sec and said 'No, don't worry about it. Something else will get you before that does'

Thanks again. Almost all of you are truly fine people I'm glad to know, and who would be welcome guests at my funeral. So if I ever pull a ba_midi and just disappear, it's not because you were left off the mailing list.

Not that I'm planning an exit any time soon! But aside from death row inmates, nobody knows when their last day on earth will be. All you can do is live each day as if it was. I know Billy did. I'll be drinking a toast (of green tea) to Billy again next July.

Very true about ba_midi.......he had great heart and lived life positively (just like you Dave ). My dad is also the same as he had a complete recovery from a 4 vessel bypass surgery about 12 years ago, and just last week got diagnosed with stage 4 liver cancer. You would never know his actual health status as his undeniable faith and positive outlook in life has been an inspiration to all of us. We all know that his time is short and he's happily ready to accept whichever comes his way (death or healthy recovery) and like you said, "all you can do is live each day as if it was your last".

The good thing for you is that you have all the tools available to improve your health and with excercise/good diet (which I'm sure you're already doing) you'll be just fine. I'm drinking a toast of home made tea (loose leaf tea) to your good health and very long life!!

Cheers Dave!!

Dave, when I got stents in 2007 I had a stress echo with contrast and they said I had NO blockage but since I have a strong family history of heart disease they did a cath. The doctor looked at me and said, "you should be dead." No kidding. They sent me straight to a bigger hospital and did the surgery that day. The surgeon told me I had multiple blockages but the main two were in my right coronary artery, an 85% and 95% blockages. I had grown little veins around them. The others were not life threatening so they let them be.
I had NO symptoms. Only thing was I lost about 10 pounds over a year and no one could figure out why. After the surgery I was hungry and gained the weight back in about a month. If you ever think (know) that something is wrong but you cannot prove it, tell them you are having chest pains and the insurance will pay for a cath. It may save your life.
You'll be on my prayer list too.

Thanks, Julien. They reinforced what you just said - that just because the CT scan and EKG didn't show any problems that doesn't necessarily mean there are none. The nurse told me of a patient who came in under similar circumstances, was sent home, and had a heart attack 3 weeks later. They all stressed the importance of coming back in if I have chest pains again.

That's depressing. My last visit to the ER cost me $1500, and that was just for a single CT scan (which identified kidney stones). This time I had 2 scans + stress test and stayed overnight in the hospital. It'll be at least 2 grand. It's enough to make me want to move to Canada. Or France, or Great Britain, or Sweden or just about any other industrialized country on the planet where health care doesn't routinely bankrupt people.

Jeez, I've got more important things to spend my money on! Ozone 6 is out!

Canada is a nice place. Health care included. What's keeping you here, ol pal?
