BitFlipper - I hadn't been in this section for a while. Truly you and your wife have my best wishes. That's tough all around. Your positive outlook is healthy for all of us.

I'm in two minds about the whole health care system having experienced both the US system and the NHS. On the one hand tax funded healthcare seems like the fairest idea, but on the other hand it's not without its drawbacks.

Seems to me that the biggest problem with recent US health insurance practice is something that should be regarded as illegal price fixing, IMO.  If you have, say, Blue Cross, some procedure will cost X dollars (or that's the total on the bill after adjusting for the insurance-negotiated terms).  If you're paying out of pocket for that exact same procedure, your bill might be triple the price that would be presented to Blue Cross - that's not an exaggeration.  Too bad the majority of our representatives in government work for the insurance companies and not their constituents.

And Bit, if there's anyone I'd want for a forum host, it's you!

Amen to that Kalle.

Dave, my dear old Gran had angina - it didn't stop her making it to 95 though!

I'm so saddened to hear of your troubles. I will keep both you and your wife in my prayers.
Given the diagnosis of your wife is it possible that your heart pains are stress related? I had that pretty regularly when I was still working.

One piece of advice I can give is keep a bottle of aspirin handy and take a dose as soon as you have chest pains. My Doc told me it was the best way to survive an attack while help is on the way and also gave me a small vial of nitroglycerin.

Of course you should check with your Doc first to be sure.

Thanks, Tom. Yeh, I wouldn't be surprised if it was just stress. Lots of that lately. And lack of sleep. And almost no music happening. Bad combination. The CH is my only remaining pointless diversion. I'll hang on to that to the end - I'd have been logging in from my hospital bed except I left the house in a hurry and forgot my tablet.

I can feel the positive thoughts! Thanks, Garry.

Dub, are you in the north end of town? A bunch of us Seattle-area SONAR users used to get together from time to time, but it fell apart for lack of a reliable venue in which to meet. Plus we were all geographically dispersed, such that sometimes I needed GPS to find my way home. But we always had a great time geeking out. We should do that again.

Bit, I'm down in Kent but occasionally have clients north of seattle. I have a meeting place but unfortunately it is in Kent.
