Perhaps someone will buy it, but not me.

Try a '72 (probably reissue though ) Thinline Tele and you might be sold.

I tried one many years ago, havent forgotten it and one day I will have one :)

I've got one of these. It's currently in pieces. I bought from a guy off of craigslist for $100. It had an aftermarket pick guard and some crappy single coils in it. I took off the pick guard and discovered the routing for the humbuckers. I ordered the correct Fender hummers and pick guard. I just havent had the time to wire it up and put it together. Great feeling neck that's slimmer than my Standard Tele.

Since I'm no big fan of Tele, I'm always looking for ones with mods.

I like a tele with a Bigsby - or anything other than the traditional tele bridge. Likewise, I don't like single coils too much these days, so the traditional pick up configuration of the telecaster is out.

Still, there is something about the Telecaster which just calls to me - I need one ad I need to find one that works for me.

Oddly enough, the models that I like aren't the big expensive ones most of the time. Like the Squier Vintage Modified Cabronita Telecaster:

Or the Modern Player

A mix of both of these would be pretty awesome...

I just bought a Modern Player on eBay a few weeks ago, the Honey Burst model. I never liked teles. I'm a Gibson man. But the last couple years I've been curious about the teles. There are a lot of tones in the Modern Player. The humbucker isn't anything special, but it doesn't sound bad. There's a coil tap switch for it too, which adds to the versatility. The middle single coil is a basic strat single coil. The lipstick single coil in the neck position sounds really good. Very creamy and bluesy. The neck is very smooth playing. I'll tell you, I am very impressed with this guitar, and I would recommend it to anyone who's looking for an additional "color" for their guitar palette. I thought that being made in China, that it would play like crap. But this thing plays and feels great. I couldn't be happier with it. Just my opinion, for what it's worth ...
