My favorite from the old catalog posthumous albums.

I should make a Cry of Love playlist using the versions on First Rays...

I miss Jimi  He is king rock musician of all time! HE did it all by himself. A true musical genius

I remember sitting in a friends closet after having taken a small white tab of something. Listening to Cry Of Love... Angel... closed eyes, an angel came down and took me by the hand and we went flying... of course I got scared, opened my eyes and ruined it. Great album. Different person, different time. Long ago and far away....

Douglas did a fine job with the material on the Cry of Love, imho.

Crash Landing was a different story - I remember when I first heard those same songs re-released and realized just how much Douglas had cut. A sin to to edit out minutes of totally inspired solo'ing by the man.

I sure enjoyed hearing it again. Brought back a lot of memories.

I had forgotten about Belly Button Window...and Jimi saying "hear I come to save the day"...lol.
No doubt, a lot of years have gone by and you're spot on...I was a different person back then too.

Freedom was my favorite back then and that hasn't changed.

I was in the audience for the live tracks on the 80s (or was it the 90s) black box set.

What I remember vividly is that the power went out on the opening tune.

And it was recorded at the L.A. Forum. That was the first concert I ever went to.
