How I missed this I don't know but I'm here now.

This sounds excellent to my (early morning ears) Gary.

Only one crit: The vox weren't loud enough.

Just right!  I imagine someone around here (or elsewhere) could come up with some great vocals on this too...but it's quite nice the way it is.  Great playing and sweet tune.  :)  Love that pianer too. :)

Gary, you are so great.  You told me once you were not a very good steel player.  This was absolutely how a steel should sound.  The whole recording is up to your A+ standards!  I know that I have to finish my "country song" before you forget how to play that thing!  LOL!  You have inspired me.

Hi, Gary,

Wow, this amazing instrumental just absolutely blew me away!

Fantastic playing and tone, well textured instrumentation and arrangement, and I definitely agree with James and Thomas about this being a totally "perfect" mix.

I always know I'm in for an "ear candy" treat when I see you post a new song on the forum.

Dynamite work, buddy!

drumstixkev: Hey Kev, how are ya? Thanks for checking out the tune and for the positive comments.  Urban Cowboy? Wow, I don't really remember that movie but I do remember those annoying bull riding machines it inspired turning up in every club I was working in...man, I used to hate those things  I really enjoyed your take on 'Movin' Out' and I'm looking forward to hearing a complete version of your original tune 'Walk Away'. Thanks again!

mgh:
you really do brighten my day every time i listen to one of your tunes

Hi Mark, great to hear from you. Man, that is such a nice thing to say. You definitely brightened my day, thank you!

notnat: Thank you, Frank! Much appreciated.

Hey Garry, nice guitar playing, really nice.  I've always wanted to play lap steel.

The mix is really tight.  The melody reminds me slighty of New Girl In Town by The Eagles but hey that's a compliment.

Not really my sort of music, I'm not a country boy but I can appreciate the skill.

Peace Ben

This is very pretty, a very nice listen.  Not really my genre, but I really appreciate the sound and vibe here.  Kudos.

My last days on the road I played steel about half the night.  It's been a long time

Very pretty.  I love steel.  I still have a lot Buddy Emmons tunes.

Some vocals would set on this very nicely.

So happy to seem some new stuff from you Gary.

Rikkie: Hi Rik. Always great to hear from you. I hadn't really thought about it but I think your right...it does sound kind of Hawaiian-ish. Which is fine by me! Thanks for checking it out. Glad you liked it.

spacealf: Hi, thanks for stopping by the ol' homestead and taking the time to listen and leave a comment. I appreciate the positive comments.

bapu: Hi Ed. Thanks for listening and commenting. Vox? hmm, if they can put a man on the moon I suppose it's possible to put vocals on this...who knows?  Thanks again, glad you liked the tune.

Janet: Hi Janet. How are you? Thanks for dropping by and thanks very much for the kind words and for mentioning my piano noodling

evadianepug: Warren! How are you, man? You are too kind, my friend. Let me know when you finish that country song...it would be a pleasure to collab with you again.

Bob Oister: Hi Bob. Thanks very much for checking out the tune and for the compliments on the arrangement and mix...much appreciated! Congrats on the release of your CD and great job on the 'Hearts On Fire' video.

BenMMusTech:
I've always wanted to play lap steel.
Man, you should get one! You can find them really cheap and it's not too difficult to play. Anyway, thanks very much for taking the time to listen and leave a comment. I appreciate the kind words and I'm not a country boy, either

Warrenlee: Hi Lee. Thanks for listening/commenting...especially when it's not a genre you like or are interested in. It's always great to hear from open-minded musicians! Thanks again.

darylcrowley: Hey Daryl! How are ya? Great to hear from you, buddy. Yea, the last band I worked with I played nothing but steel...I worked at it pretty hard for awhile but it's always been a struggle  That's how I wound up in Nashville, though...last place on earth I ever thought I'd live, haha! Thanks for the listen and the kind words. I noticed that you just posted a new song so I've gotta go check it out.

Gary,
This was sweet man. The phrasing was spot on for me. Just those little hesitations in the bends and slides.
That will get a country boys attention quicker than a diesel powered pick-up truck.
