Can't wait! I love Gilmour. I know this will be profitable (nothing wrong with that), but I still think it's a nice thing to do for the memory of Rick Wright.

I have a feeling this could be good. I always enjoyed the long instrumental intros to the albums, and found the lyrics became a bit tired towards the end - so from what I'm hearing this could be an interesting last foray. The only songs I thought stood out as 'PF tracks' on the last album were Poles Apart and the opening track, so hoping for more of that style that got left on the floor last time out.

Confession time. When I were a lad (18-24) I had only a peripheral knowledge of Pink Folyd and their music. Interesting but not engaging to my self absorbed all knowing young mind. Wrong, of course. I rediscovered the playing of David Gilmour and the music of PF about ten years ago and could not believe I had ignored it when I had the chance to learn. Now I absolutely love David's playing...probably, as I am still a self absorbed ass wipe...because it is very much like my own style. Wish I had listened more in the seventies and eighties to them. Still hate the Greatful Dead though. So...there's that.

I hear ya, Ol' Pal. I think the more I mature as a player, the more I find myself appreciating the greatness of Gilmour. Not a Dead fan either, you flushed me out as well.

I'll have to check this out. I've been a fan of Gilmour/PF for over 40 years, and yes, a fan of the Grateful Dead for almost as long. Acquired tastes for sure. If the music speaks to you, that's all that really matters.

I just place my pre-order for Pink Floyd, Jeff Beck "live in Tokyo" and "eclectic" by Eric Johnson and Mike Stern.
