I was fitted with my hearing aids today. It was like someone turning on the light in  a dark room. I went from dull mono to clean FM stereo. WOW! I could hear the door knobs tuning to open doors. I could hear my own footsteps! When I got home I heard this incessant  knocking. Where was it coming from? I looked at the wall. It was the clock hanging in the living room! Now I can hear the dogs barking, sirens , neighbors, squirrels on the roof, cars and motorcycles on the road. I had gotten used to the muffled sound. I went outside and sat in my front yard. It is a pleasant day

That is great, Bill. Very glad to hear about your bionic ears. That changes everything.

I'm really glad for you!
Most people think that going blind would be worse than deafness, but according to several studies deafness isolates a person socially more than blindness, thus causing more depression and other mental problems, even though blindness makes daily routines more complicated.
