Rocky, she lead a long and wonderful life. She was 91 and the matriarch of our family. We all knew she was going but knowing something is coming and experiencing are two different things. Thanks for the condolences.

Sorry for your loss.  Even when you know it's coming, it still hits you pretty hard.  Best wishes to you and your family.

Life truly is a bowl of pits.

They should tell you that in Kindergarten. So it's not such a shock when you find out that Big Bird is really a frustrated actor with a drinking problem and two divorces, that Kermit died a horrible death from toxic shock syndrome, and that Mork from Ork wasn't really happy at all.

You gotta find the positives where you can, dub. I scheduled a colonoscopy today. They give you some very good drugs for that, with temporary amnesia being the most common side-effect. I'm looking forward to it. Something for you to consider.

My Dad passed away 4 years ago from colon cancer at 63. A doctor told me I should have a colonoscopy at 45 instead of 50. I'll be 46 in 2 months. Procrastination. Death is a weird deal. I have not felt the same since...everything in life has changed. Some things are more precious than before, some things now seem stupid and meaningless. It's hard to explain, but the experience has made a real change in me. I'm different somehow. Sorry to hear of your loss.

Don't put it off.  It's not just the possibility of death.  If you don't catch the cancer early enough, it can lead to all sorts of unpleasant things.  They all can be avoided if you do the colonoscopy.  BTW--the preparation is worse than the actual test.  You'll be half-way sedated in most cases.
