This is not finished!

The mix is nearly complete. I need to fix the snare some more. I was hoping I could get someone to help with the backing vocals. Jim can't sing these guys as they have some really high parts going on.

I'm hoping that I can get some good backing vocals. If I do, I plan on re-recording the guitars and bass. I did this song a long time ago and have completely changed how I record. All I need now is my Octa-Capture back as it's at Sweetwater or Roland getting repaired (don't ask).

It's not bad as is but needs the rest of the backing vocals. If need be, I can omit Jim's harmony part. Just PM me.

Wow, that's some serious guitar work.  I give you all the credit in the world for tackling a song as challenging as this.  This is way out of my league, but I hope you find someone who can complete this.  I hope the next time I hear this it will be finished.  What a challenge!

Souds good but I would like to hear some good tube vibe on the guitars.  The lead vox is well done.

The lead guitar track is a little thin but as you said you wanted to do that over.  Well played though.  I assume you are running through effects, DI or with just a pre-amp?  The drive is there, but the thickness is lacking.  What's your rig?

35 years ago I would have offered to do your high harmonies for you... but that's because back then I actually could have done it.  Those days are gone.

Man! One of my favorite bands ever! Loved the individual spin on everything. Keep tweaking and I think you'll get there. Sounds like it was a lot of fun to do. Dude - the voice is so Brice Dickenson from Iron Maiden. I could so hear "Rhime of the Ancient Mariner".

Glad you shared. Keep at it. It's good stuff. Love listening to the talented folks here on this forum.

Man I wish I knew a singer... I'd point you to them.

The guitars sound great! But if you A/B this to the original :-) You'll see that you're buring the vox  (but that only seemed at the begining, later it seemed to rock pretty hard.) This is a classic "BIG HAIR" rock cover, you get kudos for even trying, and it's pretty damn awesome!

wow..  sweet job.

I used to fall asleep listening to a small boom box, loaded with a cassette of hysteria...  back in 1987!!!  when I was 9 yrs old.  I realize this track was high n dry..  but still..   Def Leppard was my fav band growing up!  I think this really well done..   Afraid I'm too emotionally attached to give an honest opinion, or any advice on the mix.

I had so much fun listening!

Cheers

I saw them in concert in the 80s, Hysteria tour, good seats, down front in the middle :-) Had a back stage pass too; but I gave it to a young lady who was in front of me "shaking her money maker throughout the show..." She was such a distraction (I mean, "that money maker?" it would bring tears to your eyes...), and the people I was with were leaving. I asked her if I could trade a kiss on the neck for a backstage pass? She said yes :-D So in the end, it was well worth it for me.

Bob Oister
Hey, Robert, very nice job on this cover of one of my old favorites!

My cover band way back when, did the first single, "Let It Rock" from the same album, "High 'n Dry", that this is from.  You did an excellent job playing and recreating the instrument tracks, and the vocals sound really good, too.

Nice work, buddy, have a good one!
Bob
