kinda one of my favorite all time tunes. this is awesome man!!  took me back to the glorious days of vinyl in my grammar school years. guitars are sweet; the only thing i would add is what was said earlier too about putting some tube warmth on here. like a nice Marshall or Hayden head w/ 4x12 cab. mic one speaker with like a Shure SM57 and one other with like a Sennheiser906 or something of the like and record two tracks simultaneously that way, then mix/blend them to get the best of both frequency responses. DL has trademark backing vocals/harmonies so you have your work cut out there especially with the high range needed, but i'm sure if you look around you can find someone with the pipes unless you think you can train your singer dude (who does a fine and impressive job on lead vox) to work with it. this is one of the best covers i have heard in a long while. thanks for the listen. looking forward to the final product. kudos.

Lynn - I appreciate it. I'm hoping for some more vox myself but so far no takers.

Thanks for checking it out Daryl. It was recorded with a PodXT. I now use a Blackstar HT-5 and can get a better tone. Plus, when I get it back, I'm useing a ROC now and can record 3 inputs at once now.

Thanks for taking the time to listen and comment James!

Thanks Wineshop! Yeah, Jim could definitly be in a IM tribute band.

Thanks for checking it out Frank. I appreciate it.

Thanks Robbie! I'll look into it. Maybe a bit of automation will help. I saw them at UD arena in Dayton, OH on the same tour. Great show! Although, Tesla opened and rocked it hard. What a night.

Thanks Linear Phase! LOL! It was Journey's "Escape" for me. Then others.
Thanks for checking it out!

Thanks for checking it out Bob! I've been working on a midi for "let it rock" but don't know how to create the bends in midi. I think I'm done with it but that.

Thanks ABV, I appreciate it! I don't have that equipment but the SM57. This was recorded with a PodXT. I have a good tube amp and an old Fender 85 combo that I use the speaker from. The speaker is an old Cerwin Vega. When I put it in, the amp gained like 5 pounds. I have to create an isolation box before I can mic it though. Till then, it's DI (out of amp), FX loop out and a DI box.

Thanks again for listening and commenting everyone.

If anyone wants to help with the BV, let me know!

Jim sounds like Bowie. I'd capitalize on that.

Drums need to be BIGGER!!!!!

Thanks Bapu! I appreciate it.

This one is on hold for a while. Jim found a singer to do the high harmonies. She won't be able to get to it till September somethime. I'll just start a new thread then.

Nice one.   I was thinking about doing a rocking guitar instrumental and started on Switch 625.  You beat me to it.  Nice job....I like what you've done with it.

My absolute favourite DL song.  Great work.

In terms of the mix levels, I think the cymbals could come back in the mix -especially in the chorus, there might be too much swell.  I think you're right the snare needs work to me it sounds too thin, it really needs to smack you in the face.

Nice work.
