Now that just blew me away.  Really great stuff.  Almost sounds like Mick Taylor or perhaps even Traffic. Great grove and vibe !!!!

thanks man. yep, can't get away from the CSNY and Zep influences, they're ingrained.
this song would be easy to translate to full band.

you can even slow it down to half speed, and play it in dropped tune, instant heavy.

timidi
thanks man.......
my primary acoustic is a Taylor 414

i use multiple mics, but only one at a time.
some of the tracks are with a ADK Hamburg, some are with a AT4033, and maybe a SM57

thanks for listening in...

ohgrant
that's hand percussion.
a egg shaker, some maracas, and a conga set.
i just kinda follow the guitar rhythm, that's why the rhythm isn't spot on.
it's supposed to be a bit looser, a little more vibey.

clean
thanks mark.
i appreciate that....

hey thanks for listening!
i've done some acoustic numbers with slide in the past, so this is kind of a changeup from what 'had' been the norm

appreciate that! mick taylor, don't hear that name dropped very often, but yes, i'm a fan.

thanks man.
glad you dig it.

the reverse thing, was a three step process...

i took the first line of the lyric ....."one hour to get there"....
and took a section of the wave file where it says 'one'.....
copied to another track.
and i applied a healthy short-but-phat reverb to it.

then, i selected that snippet, and applied 'reverse audio' to it.
then i slipped it into the time line right before the actual line starts....
and applied a volume envelope to it, and brought it up real quick just in front of the actual word.
then i chopped it off just as the peak of the actual word comes in.

one hour to get there
riding with the wind at our backs
top down, stars above
in a chrome-fast cadillac

hey man, can you pass it around?
the time is flying right on by
everybody's gettin' ready now
with a righteous gleam in their eyes

High time, is catchin' a ride
waiting for the sun to arrive
morning glory shine on my face
reminds me that i'm alive

Ocean plays no favorite
mountain's got no one she adores
but if you're feeling just right
you'll be having a little more, oh yea

Hi BB, most excellent sounding guitars, wouldn't mind if you'd expanded that ending solo for a couple of minutes.

THANKS FOR THE KIND WORDS....

yes, it's tough sometimes, with tunes like this that just lend themselves to endless wanking!!

LOL

yeah, this is bit different than your usual fare..... but it still has the distinctive "Bat" feel to it.

I hear the CSN & Zep influences in it.

Nice fat sound on the acoustic.

excellent

thanks man.
you know, i have quite a few like this, just don't post them all....

i run the acoustic mic, thru a nice tube preamp with some grunt on it, then thru a dbx compressor, before hitting the convertors.
it takes all the nice tone, chops off the transients, and i eq the low end pretty heavy (roll off most of everything below 150hz)
