Another quality track, I like the sound and feel of this track, really well played.

My only criticism is I would have liked some Mellotron strings at the end, it would have really given the track a Zep feel and given the listener a lift at the end.

Good lyrics.  Killer vocals, nice tight harmonies.  The acoustic guitar is punchy and clean.  Dang, you've got this game nailed extremely well.  I love to watch you work and pick your brain for a day.

Good tune!

I can't say I  ever expected to see the words acoustic ballad in batsbrew song post, so apart from anything else,  sheer curiosity made me have to listen. Then I was surprised all over again as it was nothing like I was imagining in my head. You nailed it though, no surprises there I guess. Everything sounds absolutely bang on to me.

alright, you guys are still checking it out!
thanks....

i've been working on mixes of songs for an all-instrumental album i'm going to put out in the spring.
so this is a good diversion for me, reading responses....

ben
mellotron!! hehhe, oh no, this kiss of progressive death!
mental images of rick wakeman and john paul jones run thru my tiny little brain.....

you know, i actually came across a VST of a 'mellotron' a while back, and i've been dying to try it out on something...
thanks for listening!

daryl
thanks for the kind words, daryl.
it'd be cool to hook up and just mess around with mixes and try out new ideas.
even tho I don't do a lot of reviews here, i listen a lot..
and read the other responses....
and i've garnered so much information from just listening to others talk about their workflow, ideas of using FX and arrangement ideas...
i steal a lot of info that way!

wookie
thanks for saying it anyways!
LOL
have another good day

paulo, i've been writing (and posting) acoustic ballads for several years here...
sorry you missed the previous ones.
but in short, i'd say my overall output is about 20% all acoustic, with acoustics making it into the mix of the electrics another 25% of the time.
i love acoustic.
to me, it's the most revealing, there's no where to hide.
THE FUN THING... for me, about acoustics, is the dynamics.

i mean, i can plow thru a song with the acoustic, and make it be fairly consistent across the 'dynamics' board......
but being able to back off, and play heavy and light....
then later tweak it with volume automation... that just blows my mind.
that's what i did with this one...

when i get to the really light stuff, my outboard compressor deals with some of that..
but all the guitar tracks have heavy volume (and panning) automation (so i would not have to rely on internal compression messing with the clarity of the guitar capture), but it's so subtle, you'd have to really study it to 'hear' it working.
but it's there.

i dig that.
thanks for listening, glad you liked this one.
i got some more comin'...........

Cool tune, flawlessly performed and mixed.  Great job.

Love the sound of the Taylor.  What mic(s) were you using on it?

thanks for checking it out.

glad you liked it, phil.
the mics:
i used a combination (1 mic per track/performance) of 2 different ones on this song...

audio technica 4033, and a ADK Hamburg.
i sit about a foot away from the mic, and aim it more towards the neck/body joint.

I just listened to your tune Bat.  I have to somewhat diverge from the other comments and say that I actually hear a Jane's Addiction influence more than Zep.  I think it's the vocal style or production of the vocals.  Either way, I enjoyed it!
