I still remember seeing them with a friend at a club called Baxter's in southern California long after their heyday. It was funny because they all had long hair by then and looked like they slept in their vans instead of the clean look they had when My Sharona came out.
We ended up at a round table right in the front and shared it with this little older lady who had to be about four foot nothing. She seemed to know every song and was pretty into it which made us laugh a little. Then during the break, the lead guitarist and singer comes over and asks us "So have you met my mother? She's never missed one of our gigs!"
I couldn't imagine my mom being that cool with what we used to play.
