Q: Is there any way to control the speed of the rotary effect in Vintage Organs or is just "fast" and "slow"?
 
I thought I remembered a global speed control in B4II, maybe I am mistaken.
 
I guess I've gotten used to sync effects and the fast and slow speed is not jiving with a song I'm working on, as I paced the tempo to suit the vocal part.
 
 

As far as I can tell, no you can't. There's no parameters in the setup menu that allows adjustment of the L/H rotor speed manually, or sync'd for that matter. Seems kinda silly that they couldn't include a variable speed adjustment parameter.

Is there nothing in edit mode that would pertain to it? Sometimes in Kontakt you have to get "under the hood" as it were.

I looked under the hood before I asked and I didn't see anything.
 
I'm thinking I may use a free standing rotator or delay effect after the Kontakt Patch in the hopes that I can adjust the timing to suit the song.
 
I think that songs that originate from jams are timed to respond to the timing of organic effects like an organ rotary sound, but in this case I want to impose a groovy organ sound as a bed underneath a song that is more or less defined by the pacing of the vocal line and the timing of the effect is not working. I hope that makes sense.

Hey Mike, there's adjustment for lots of the parameters including the rotor. I just called up a patch and you need to select the tab that says AMP. In that area you can turn the rotor on/off and adjust the ramp speed on the Leslie.

I just took a look and it doesn't look like the rotator effect built into Kontakt includes the speed parameters for the rotors (though it does have the ramp speeds John mentioned). You can click the wrench to go into edit mode and then go to "insert effects" in this case to see the raw parameters.
 
But you can indeed control the rotor speeds in both B4 II and also in the rotator effect in Guitar Rig.

I thought I was acting like a grown up. This was the first time I side stepped my persistent use of B4II and tried the Kontakt library. I figured it was finally time to give up on B4II and adopt some new habits by using Kontakt for this. 
 
I think I may swap out the Kontakt instance for B4II and resume wondering why N.I. has decided to leave it by the wayside.

I have both the Vintage Organs and B4II.  I never use Vintage Organs.  B4II is my go to for Hammond sounds.  I also wonder why NI dropped support for it.

I just checked a couple of the VST simulators I use in place of VI's built in rotary. Melda's MVintageRotary only has fast and slow, with variable acceleration.
 
XLS Labs LX122 has fully variable drum and horn speeds but they are not synced to MIDI.
