Hi people,
Well guess what? Iv'e come back with "my tail between my legs",as I'm comfortably running,an admitedly "low track count",but "buckets of plugins"[Waves Q10 x10,Waves LL-3L,Melda Analyzer,VC76[N.I.]x10 etc]all at an "indicated" 9.1ms of Round Trip Latency,with 64 samples[ASIO] 24bit,48KHz,in X2 Pro,with no "breakfast noises" yet]pops/crackles]yaay!
Admittedly, none of the plugins, are particularly cpu intensive, but my overly negative attitude, toward the VS-100,is certainly "changing for the better",as I spend more time with it.

It also doesn't CONSTANTLY lose the USB connection, with the "sole, and only" USB 2.0 port,on this April 2011-i7 2630qm Dell XPS laptop,SO! annoyingly!,like the Native Instruments "bus powered" KA6 does[and I'm actually using the N.I. KA6's USB cable"with" the VS-100! too!].

Iv'e yet to get below an "indicated" 9.1ms RTLatency, but I'm willing[hoping!!]to bet that,I "just may be able to",with my "already aging" OC'ed 4.6GHz i7 2600k box,in the next few days[now the "ridiculous heat" we've had,has now turned to instant cold!...Australia,land of extremes!]

Anyway,if you can get one of "these babies" cheap, don't hesitate.
Cheers

2 things: I don't think your latency issues have anything to do with the VS-100 but rather with your USB controller. I have my VS100 running with ~7ms total round-trip latency with no pops or dropouts with > 20 tracks @ 24/96 in Sonar X2. I was only able to do this using my USB2 port and not my USB3 ports, both on high-quality Intel controllers with no hub in the middle. 2nd: Anyone who says they can't deal with 12ms round trip latency is probably exaggerating. 12ms is about the same as standing 12 feet from your guitar amp.
