Ah, one of my favourite songs, thanks for covering this Robby. Super job on it too, excellent musicianship to pull all this together single-handed. Vocals are spot-on. Love the little dobro fills, tastefully done, and just right. The only crit I have is the sound of the piano, it's played beautifully but it's not quite bedded in to the track to my ears. That is a minor crit though, this is great stuff.

Thanks James! Yeah I'm a jack of several trades :-) I just wish I could be a master of mixing! LOL! Fortunately, that which does not kill us "supposedly" makes us stronger.

And I'm going to take a stab at one last remix on this tomorrow before I put it on a piece of ice and push it out to sea like an Escimo grandparent...

listening again this morning..... this time to hear the drums. The main thing for me with the drums is they are not as bright and easy to hear as I would like.... a bit muffled. Maybe just a tad brighter would work. 

definitely one of the best ones you have done yet. 

Ok, I brightened the snare w/some EQ and brought more of the upright sound in to the Piano. Probably not going to tweak it anymore.

I'm hearing that the snare could use some snap to it. Try the transient too on the snare to give it some top end snap.

Snare is better and more in the same ballpark as the rest of the instruments.

Change that doubled-piano sound already!

Ok, I pushed the transiants on the Snare, and did a NY compression on it, and gave it a bit more verb it seems to "snap" a bit better? And I stopped hiding behind that dbled piano track, and just went with the upright? The Band did it with basically an upright sound but I didn't want to get too agressive with it, I was trying to just get a flavor of it? But I went ahead and muted the studio grand and the true track and boosted the upright. I guess it sounds better? I hope it does.
