Ed, thank you so much, and "I'm all up in there..." P.S., I'm freestyling some lyrics? I'll shoot them by you, and I can also do yours as well? And we can A/B them? As I said, I have to "feel it..." So I played the music, and listened? And imagined... (actually still imagining?) In the end it will be good either way :-)

I'm happy to be free of this one. When they're out? I don't typically revisit them... I consider them to be like, well? A trip to the bathroom? Hey I dropped the kids off at the pool, what do you think? Occassionally, I'll work to "polish them..." I need to bounce .... off of people like you and James and others more before I spash them in to the pool I guess.

Hey, Robby,

Really nice job on this great cover of an all time classic!

I missed the first few mixes, but this version sounds fantastic to my ears.  The vocals are super as always, and I love the dobro and the organ in particular.  The mix sounds very spacious considering the amount of elements floating in and out throughout the song.

Very nice work, bud!

Ok, let's face it? When it comes to the mixing, I kind of suck at it, I understand this, and admit it. But I'm trying to get better? I had some comments from another forum that the drums were burried? And I know some people were complaining about the snare here. So, I put some more lipstick on that pig? The snare now I think is where it needs to be... Also, the drums "overall" came up a bit.

Then I got to listening and said, "I can't hear the mandolin..." You still can't really hear it? But it's in the mix a bit better. Then the vox and the EQ, then I was looking at the .wav? and playing with the limitter on the mains, and on the drums, pushed the kick, changed the mband EQ on the mains, changed envelopes, basically "everything" changed, some subtly, some dramatically. I think it's better. I wouldn't blame people for either not listening to "remix 8?" or not noticing the difference?

I understand. But I'm really trying to be less of a dufface when it comes to the darn mix. I don't think I've had a mix 8 on any song before? And I'm hoping there's no "number 9" (as the Beatles would say...)

Submitted for your approval, hopefully I'm learning to do this stuff better?

I've been following along. This mix8 sounds best. I think I'm getting used to the snare:)

Well if I can get kudo's from one of my mix heros? (Timaaaaay!) Then I'm sportin wood!

Swing!
Shaaaawing!
If she was president, she'd be "Baberaham Lincoln!"

LOL! And Ed? The darn snare has "SNAP" now! It's still not what folks want, but it's like way better? And it all started with you bitc... err, um, "commenting?" on it? :-)

The whole mixing thing is a black art... I'm convinced that the people who are like really good at it? Have all sold their souls. It's the only explaination that works.

Never heard it, but that's no surprise. Nice to know you can still sing. :) Sounds wonderful in all ways. Except for that piano sound. :( I know Ivory can sound much better than that. Unless you wanted it to sound that way, of course. You're playing the drums for real? Good for you. It's about time. :)

Thanks Janet, but I play my drums w/2 fingers, not w/2 sticks. Glad you liked it. My DAW is down for the count... Took a lightening strike through the DSL/Ethernet port last night and fried the mother board... They're trying to get a new one for it, remains to be seen if they'll get all the SW back up (fingers crossed...) Then I'll be saving pennies to get a new DAW/Windoze 7/X1/64 bit and start the long migration to it I guess.

You could learn to play the drums...I know you could.  And I think I saw a nice set sitting already anyway?  And you've got time now! :)

But your DAW got fried? :( That's too bad.  That's more than too bad.  My condolences.
