You bought a box?  Um, nice box.

Unpacked and in the process of installing Logic 9 and X plus the extra content.

The display is quite an upgrade from the previous external monitor I used in terms of picture quality and impressively large for a 21.5.

Having an external keyboard will be super nice. I wasn't so sure about the mouse when I saw it didn't have a scroll-wheel. But then I noticed that it was actually a tactile surface in its own right. :)

Furthermore, I just went from 2 USB ports to 4. On my laptop, the ports were allocated to my audio interface and the hub. Now I can discard the hub - external hd, audio interface, midi keyboard are all hooked directly, which mean everything becomes better/faster just with that and since the mouse and keyboard are wireless I have a port left.

The extra bonus is that my MacBook Pro becomes portable again. Not only that, but I can use it as a synth and effect host, and to control my POD HD.

Incidentally, I've had the opportunity to help out one of the Apple folks at the store which a customer asking technical questions about Logic and digital audio... Always nice. :)

10 shows a week? Holy crap. I can't even bathe that often. I'm curious, how much time is she onstage performing during each show? Having to keep her energy up must require tremendous self-discipline. I won't ask if she has any energy left for you at the end of the day.

I wonder which show she is in? Man...10 shows a week sounds like a tough grind, but it's pretty cool!

Hey Rain I am in the production library music area and it is great. Make sure you read this book. It is very very good and very important.

I'm not sure how much time she is on-stage exactly - she has 4 main numbers on-stage plus voices she's doing from backstage. The time between that is spent running backstage, changing costumes and getting ready for the next number. 2 shows a night, 5 night a week.

Not including make-up and hair and the daily training.

It is a tough gig, very demanding physically, a one of a kind thing even for Cirque.

Also watch the TAXI podcasts. Go back and watch a few of these podcasts. Some of them are excellent.

You don't have to join TAXT but you can sign up for their emails etc. It is well worth it. There are a lot of tricks as to what should happen within any 2 minute Cue.

Here she is, my pride and joy. That's one of her characters, the spider lady. Belting while spinning upside down 40 ft in the air twice a night for the almost 4 years...

That's pretty cool Rain, You should be very proud of her success. I asked because I was just in Vegas for the first time in my life last week. I believe you posted some ideas in my vacation thread a couple of weeks ago. We didn't have time to do anything but get to the airport this time, but we'll be back.
