Hope everyone is well.  I like Garritan but stopped using it because for whatever the reason and no matter what sound I use the sound is very low to where I can barely hear it when I play the track back. I have to keep re-loading the sound constantly. If I edit the midi data and start playback the sound is low. If I select another track or do anything in Sonar and come back to Garritan the sound is very low. It's done this from day one and I think I got it with an earlier version of Sonar not sure which one. It's a shame that it's too annoying to work with.
Anyone ever had or hear of this problem. I hope it's a setting or something. I don't tweak anything in the player. I hope someone can help. Also the lower notes sound is heard on the right speaker and higher notes on the left. It's switched for some reason.
Thanks

Hi Bob, the reason for the low volume is the fact that Garritan uses the mod wheel for volume and when you do something that stops Sonar like going back to measure 1 or to any other measure Sonar will reset all MIDI controllers to zero.  That is unless you go to preferences/project/midi and unclick zero controllers when play stops.  When you unclick this your controller settings will remain the same, thus your volume will still be loud.

You other problem is a panning problem so check your pan setting in both Sonar and Garritan.

I hope this helps.

Thank you Mario that does work. The only thing is now the piano softsynth sustains now. At least I know how to control Garritan's volume now using the mod wheel. This makes things less of a pain now. Thanks for your help.

nice tip I heard about a while back... you could always make a midi file which contains your desired mod wheel 'volume'...   save it on  desktop .. and drag it into your projetcs when needed.

Handy too for any sample based player that may have round robin reset....

Or at the start of the MIDI file add a CC1 data point set to the volume that you want.
