I have installed MAutoVolume ver. 8.01 and purchased though not installed MDynamicEQ ver. 7.13.

I have some time currently to update and install each. If I remember some previous posts correctly, it was advised to uninstall the previous installations before running the new 8.xx installer.

Is this correct, or can I simply run the new installer?

Or was the uninstall only necessary for the bundles?

It is not a bad idea to uninstall first. It is what the vendor recommends for both individual plug-ins and bundles. I don't believe it a big deal either way. Leaving old bundles in place is unavoidable when needed to retain discontinued plug-ins (unless one wants to go through the Melda archives and download the individual plug-ins).

Thanks Scook:

Also, one final thing, the forums suggested that ver 8.01 was cpu or graphic card intensive and crashed Sonar. I found this to be true for my MAutoVolume and as the forums suggested, I disabled the "Enable GPU Acceleration" and that stopped the crashes.

Has that been fixed in any of the updates?

I believe so, there was a lot of work done in the 8 series on GPU acceleration.  Most of the issues involved older graphics cards. Try 8.06, if it does not work for you, the developer is has a support forum at kvr and is very active on it. Melda also maintains a download archive if you need a previous version http://www.meldaproduction.com/download/

I don't uninstall Melda plugins before updating anymore, and have had no problems. And I've installed a lot of Melda updates. The GPU issues have been resolved, AFAIK. At least, they were for me.

That is really good news! I'm updating Toontrack today and Melda tomorrow...Then I also have some important reading on EQ to get caught up on :)

Apparently not for me. I upgraded MAutoVolume and MDynamicEQ to 8.06 after uninstalling the previous version of MAutoVolume, enabled GPU Acceleration and got a Sonar.exe has stopped working dialog box every time upon exiting Sonar. Not so with the checkbox unchecked.

Probably my onboard graphics? I'm not even sure what I have...it says "integrated graphics": http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=4634334&CatId=2639#productresources

Would it help to get an inexpensive video card?
