Alright, another guitar store to visit next time I am in town. Pawn Stars was a serious let down for me. Not at all as I had imagined.

You have to be somewhat a fan of the show to appreciate it. You might actually see some of the show's 'stars'. For some that might not be any thrill.

I was there on a weekend and the stars don't work the weekend. Big fan, but it was much smaller inside than I pictured. I did get a Chumley bobble head though.

How could I omit Love? Ken is right. A must for any Beatles fan. I could just close my eyes and listen to the show - it's such an experience, almost like you're sitting in the music, hearing it like youVe never heard it before...

And yes, the Bellagio fountains are quite enjoyable - I guess I tend to forget because they're a tourist attraction, so we usually avoid them.

Speaking of tourist attraction, one which I dig is Fremont Street.

If you like red meat, I personally enjoy Echo & Rig (Butcher/Steakhouse) in a place called Tivoli Village. On the more expensive side, but one of the best steaks I've eaten. If one doesn't indulge in wine or keeps it down to a glass or so, it's entirely possible to enjoy a terrific meal for 2 for less than $150.

The folks that run out of money prior to their return flights from Vegas seem to go see the Hoover Dam.

Also, that stretch of road just out of San Fran on 1 is incredible to do during the day time - heading South, it winds down and there are several incredible views off the cliffs.  Saw a shark way down below once, cruising in the shallows - not near any people.

Sounds like a fun trip,

Wow, in Vegas and all you mention is Sam Ash and GC?  Did the late Ed Roman's place close down?  Now THAT is the place you want to check out!

Last I heard, yes it did actually. :/

"We have closed our retail display & showrooms in order to concentrate fully on serious customers & internet sales. We do still have a showroom that is opened by appointment to pro musicians, collectors, serious & previous customers.

To make an appointment please call us at (702) 875-4552. We are available during our posted hours of operation.
We want people to call for an appointment and not just drop in. If you just drop in, be prepared to be turned away. It is rude to turn people away but we guarantee a wonderful shopping experience for the person who calls first."

Wow, I guess a lot has changed since 'ol Ed is now six feet under!

Seems so.

I wanted to go with a guitar playing friend of ours who came to Vegas last years, I thought it would be a great opportunity to finally visit that legendary place you and a few guys here talked about. That's when I learned that they were now requiring appointments. Just too bad.

One of the guitar players on one of Cirque show who's been in Vegas for 10 years now also told me that he'd been far from impressed w/ them and their attitude. He recommended Cowtown Guitars instead (I'd heard about that one too from someone on this forum IIRC).
