I am close to coming to the end of my Nectar 2 10 day free trial.  I really can't justify the price tag on its purchase  and have looked for a suitable "out of date"  replacement.  I found Nectar Elements for $79.99 on Amazon.  After downloading and (before purchasing it) quickly assessing it as a free trial  I find it is somewhat less feature rich than Nectar 2  If anyone can offer guidance as to how much those added features are valued I would appreciate the input.  I also wonder if we can expect Nectar 2 etc.  to be offered on a half-price special soon?

I have no idea about the possibility of a sale although I can say that Izotope has been going one by one through their catalog with a sale on each product.  Nectar has not come up for sale yet.

However, if you're patient, then Nectar Elements goes on sale *very* frequently.  I wouldn't purchase it for $80 unless you absolutely needed it.

Oh wait...well, here is Nectar Elements at Time & Space for only $33!  They are a reliable seller. I've bought frequently from them.

You could then use it to upgrade when you catch a sale on Nectar 2. ;-)

I got Nectar Elements and Peavey Revalver HPSE free from XLN with Addictive Drums V1. They also gave me Addictive Keys when I upgraded to X3 because I was already a registered user of AD. Have you checked your AD account?

I also picked up Nectar elements from my XLN account, and then I upgraded to Nectar 2 for a very good price. If you are using X3e you should get elements for free. Check your XLN account.

Bluzdog ...  Ampfixer  I have Sonar Producer X3e but to my knowledge  I don't had an XLN account.  Unti a minute ago I had never been to their web site.  Is an XLN account automatically established with a Cakewalk Sonar account?

Addictive Drums is bundled with X3 Producer. The product requires creating an XLN account, downloading their installer and using the XLN installer to install Addictive Drums. If you purchased the download version of SONAR there should be a file 05_XLN_Audio_Addictive_Drums_Download_Instructions.rtf containing the instructions in your store account along with the rest of the X3 files. I would image the DVD version includes the instructions too. since the original release of X3, XLN released a new version of Addictive Drums. Depending on when you bought X3 you may be entitled to Addictive Drums 2. You may need to contact XLN support to find out.

I've been waiting to upgrade my Nectar Elements (which I obtained very cheaply) to Nectar 2 nearly 1/2 a year now. There have been some deals I've seen but only for Nectar Production Suite which is beyond what I need. The best price I can find is $129. I actually was going to purchase this tomorrow but now I'll wait and see if anyone has a better idea / price.

Many companies have year end sales starting near the of November through December (some go through January). Often the best prices are offered during that time.

Well shucks, hard to wait, I shattered my hip socket so, needless to say, I have some down time right now :)

Sorry to hear about the hip RobbyK.  I bought new ones and had them installed  one in 1999 and the other in 2010.  I must say to anyone who may be hesitant to have a hip replaced ... what a great and wonderful relief!!!  Is the $129 nprice tag an upgrade price? From what little I've learned that's not too bad if it's for the production package with the other goodies thrown in.

Scook ...  I haven't progressed to the point in Sonar to have had much of a chance to make and work with instrumentation tracks so I didn't download Addictive Drums.  From what you've taught me, I will soon do that and create an XLN account etc. as well.  Thanks for the great tip!

By the way here's some simple trivia... When I was little I couldn't say my sister's name "Susan".  Instead, I called her "SCOOKS"!!  Do you think of your signature being pronounced as S. Cook or as Skooke?  ,
