Has anyone figured out if the animation in Fab Filter Pro-Q uses resources when the VST window is closed or minimized?

I guess I could set up a project with a bunch of tracks and turn stuff on and off and try to figure it out, but I'm wondering if someone actually knows how it was coded to work?

I like using the Pre-Post option and tend to turn it off when I close the VST window just in case they are actually processing graphics I am not looking at. I've been wondering if the coding does it for me automatically regardless of what I do or don't do.

edit to reflect an interest in both Pro-Q 1 and Pro-Q 2.

I don't know, but if I were to bet, I'd bet that the FF guys weren't so lazy that they'd let it run unnecessarily.  But for a definitive answer, why not ask the question here:

You'll likely get a *very* authoritative answer.

Oh yeah ... and report back here when you do.

No, the UI elements do not use resources when the plugin is minimized, hidden, or the spectrum display is turned off. Even when the UI is active, it uses your video card's GPU so the difference in CPU usage is negligible.

I posted some questions at the FabFilter forum. It turns out it's about as dead as the SONAR forum.

They have been great about email response, I guess I'll wait a couple more days and send them an email if nothing happens on the forum.
