The quad curve is similar to FabFilters Pro Q (my fave) in that it is very accurate albeit a bit "clinical". Very useful. But what the OP is after is a very "colorful" eq...and the Scheps is definitely that.

Yepp, i really like the waves Scheps sound, and with the same settings with the demo of the IK Multimedia EQ 73
they still cant compare to each other, the waves one beats the  IK EQ, in ( open'ess ) with the preamp function.

The scheps is fatter sounding also with a bit more character, maybe it got wider Q than the IK one !
the IK multimedia one is more in the mid ranged, and neutral / flat sounding compared to Scheps

to understand what i mean, listen to this : Youtube skip to 6 mins, the UAD Neve 1073 is a big winner.
Notice the open'ess / room sound, versus mono'ish upfront sound
its the Mojo coming and leaving here...

If i could afford it i would get the best UAD card and the Neve 1073
but i cant afford the cheapest single processor card.... then the decision is made so far
that's why i think the Waves Scheps, is the alternative for me.

I want Scheps 73 sound, with more EQ bands.... thats it.

That said, I think I'd wait for the VMR before jumping on either of these, assuming you don't mind the iLok.

Cheers,

Maybe, if there's no other suggestions on EQ ,atleast i think the EQ's in the VMR has 4 bands ?

I'm with Alex on this. The Quadcurve does a real good job. And it has the analyzer with it now.

Only for those who own Producer version, right ? , because i don't have the big display in Studio version

Also take a look at the Waves VEQ3, based on the Neve 1066 and 1073. It's a beautifully sweet sounding EQ, especially on guitars and vocals. I love it. You can make HUGE boosts with it and it still sounds very musical.

Yes I believe that to be the case. Do you have the "fly out" ability on the Quadcurve?

[edit] I went look at the product page for the different versions and saw that Quadecurve is there in both versions. Only in producer it shows that it has "Zoom" and Studio doesn't.

So look and see if the analyzer function is there. Not really sure.

Thanks i know about it, but would prefer the scheps 73 over the VEQ3, it also have 3 band only

The VEQ3 cuts a bit more on the high's than the Scheps 73 do, and i like the high's

i actually want a  " Scheps 73 sounding " EQ  , with more EQ bands ( 4 to 6 )
Any suggestions...

Try a demo of the Maag EQ4. If that don't float your boat, nothin will.
