Just curious about the WAVES SoundShifter time and pitch manipulator currently on sale with the Q28PL coupon code - $99 instead of $149.
 
Has/does anyone use it and have thoughts?  Any better/quicker than what we have now in our Sonar tools (X3ePE)?
 
I don't do a whole lot of major pitch work but when I want to do something quick like move a WAV or MP3 by a step or two, I usually just open Reaper which takes less than a minute or two with decent results.

For real time pitch adjustment I use https://www.zplane.de/products/elastique-pitch AudioDeluxe has it for $125 (final discount applied in cart).

You already have a method that works, only takes a couple of minutes, and you only do it once in a while. Let's say another product can do it in one minute instead of two, saving you a total of one hour over the next two years. The $99 cost is justified only if you bill your time at $100 per hour or more.
 
IMO you'd get a much better return on investment upgrading to full Melodyne.

@Bit, no doubt!  Probably a bad example to mention.  Obviously PitchShifter can do way more (e.g. building risers) than what I use Reaper for and is certainly not justifiable nor reasonable for someone who just needs that.

Earlier this year the same plugin went on sale for $29. Might want to wait.
 
Soundshifter does both time and pitch shifts. For time shifts, nothing out there is more transparent than AudioSnap, which you already have.
 
For pitch-shifting, there are alternatives. Even the old freebie Kerovee surprised the heck outa me when I tried it. For small shifts, V-Vocal still works fine for me. For more demanding edits, Melodyne rarely fails to live up to its expectations. Other candidates would be the aforementioned zplane (expensive) and Aegean Music's Pitchproof (free).  

See, I hadn't even heard of PitchShifter - good to know.  Haven't heard of Kerovee either for that matter - thanks for the follow-up!  Unbelievable the tools at our disposal!!
