Hi guys I`m having a nightmare trying to connect a Motu 624 AVB with a new very powerfull Laptop (Acer Aspire V5-519G)
The audio driver is crashing every time I work with 44.1khz projects.
If i work on 48khz projects for hours it works perfect.
When i connect it with my 8 year old pc it works fine no crashes what so ever, and this pc is much slower.
Motu are doing what they can to help but it is probably an incompatible issue between hardware and software.
Motu Microsoft and Intel something to do with the usb chipset of intel.

This was a fully working laptop for this last year had no issues with it tracking 16 tracks of 48khz 24 bit audio for long periods.
Still I made a fresh install of everything including bios ,firmware and drivers directly from Acer official site.
Any info would be greatly app. before i go and get a cheap HP or soemthing more compatable with Motu cause I need this for live performance urgently.
Thanks
Peace

Have you contacted Motu about the issue and have you tried with any other audio software?

Have you tried disabling on-board audio (including HDMI based drivers)? Do you have any third party drivers like ASIO4ALL or Jack on your system (even if you're not using them)?

Since Windows Media Player crashes too, that points to a PC problem rather than a problem with the MOTU or Sonar.

Was this upgraded to Win 10 or did it come with Win 10?  I see one reference to this model with a 2014 date that suggests it came with Win 7 or Win 8?  If this is the case, a "clean" Win 10 install may be needed, assuming all the hardware is fully Win 10 compatible.

Hi Fireberd first thanks for the help.
Yes it is a 2014 model i got it in 2015,it came with win 10 home now i have Win 10 Pro and i did a clean install already, and yes im sure it is a pc problem cause i used the motu with Sonar on a much older pc and worked perfect. I`m just triying to pin piont the problem in this powerfull laptop.
It has an Intel core i7-6700HQ that`s one of the fatest mobile cpu`s around.

One other strange thing is that this laptop is not letting me uninstall the onboard audio completely,
i mean i can disable it in the device manager but if i try to uninstall it completly, next restart it will install again on its own.Windows hardware update is set to no,so this must be something integrated in the bios, and that is a problem because when i go in the bios i do not have any options to disable anything.
Peace

If you got it in 2015 with Win 10 home it may be a pre release version and not the full final version.  That again may be the problem.

Go to the Settings Panel and the System and then About.  Report what Version and OS Build you have.

I would check with Motu if they support the Creators update for W10. It might be that they only support up to 1607 (anniversary update).
Another thing.. How did you connect the Motu? AVB or USB 3?

usb 3.0 that`s what giving me the problem, the chipset of intel i`ve been told in another forum.
By the way on windows you cannot connect it with cat 5 only on mac you can.
Peace
