Every Veteran's Day this Coffee House goes out of it's way to thank all veterans for serving their country.
 
AFAIK John is one of the few Vietnam vets on this forum.

I want to know how people even come across these old threads. Do they have them bookmarked or do they pop up during a search? I have to admit, it scares me the frequency with which I'll do a Google search for some music production related subject and one of my own freaking posts shows up as the first result.

This very thread, unbelievable as it seems, led to a slew of ridiculous events that caused what then was a very different CH - one with a cheerful chemistry among the regulars that cannot ever be explained to anyone that was not here at the time - to disintegrate in a very ugly fashion, leaving hard feelings among many and many others never to return. 
 
Just understand that if you weren't here, you can't possibly really understand. You just can't.
 
 
So given that some people's lingering ill will has been associated with John - because this thread turned out to be an Archduke Ferdinand kind of a thing - Steve's point was something along the lines that he might not be the best choice for someone with mod powers and whatnot.
 
Personally, John has always struck me as a good guy despite any differences we might ever have had, but I'm like that.
