I wasn't expecting the stuff I ordered for room treatment to arrive anytime before the end of September or maybe even early October. Well:

Or, in the immortal words of the great Rebecca Black: It’s Friday, Friday Oo-ooh-ooh, hoo yeah, yeah. ;)

what kind of room treatment stuff did you order?

I built my own using OC 703, 1x6's, a few 2x4 pieces to hold stuff together and burlap.

Well, and RobertB and my wife helped me!

For now, foam - wedges and basic corner treatment.

I know I'd get better results building my own but, realistically, that just isn't going to happen - and should it ever happen, well, all the better.

Seeing how even just putting back the curtains on the walls had audible results, anything is better than nothing. Plus a friend uses the same stuff in his studio, and I was quite surprised with how much the acoustics had improved over the last time I'd been there.

Is there any way you can do a sonic, before & after, test? I bet you could use an ARC type product to do that. You could actually see what you paid to hear.

I'm just curious about what you're going to do with all the bass that you trap.  Send it over to the annoying neighbors maybe?

And then they tell me, all your basses belong to us? No thanks. I'm putting them in the garage and asking Bapu a ransom.

Wouldn't be a bad idea. lol

But I'm not putting a dime on ARC before I've done a bit of work - I'll take my chances with foam as a first step.

On the whole I'd say things definitely sound a more balanced and "stable" for lack of a better word and the low end is tighter.

I focused on the front of the room, mainly the wall behind the monitors and the first reflection spot on the side walls, at ear height when I'm in mixing position.

The back of the room got 2 of those corner foams in the upper corners but I plan on doing more work to the rest of the side walls and the back of the room soon enough.

Looks good Rain! I like the paint job too.

I'm hope to get my room cleaned out and up in the coming month and I am going to be asking for some help. It isn't exactly a square room. I will measure it, take some pictures, and try and draw the floor plan. I'm going with a plain table and nearfield monitor stands, dual video monitors but I am clueless about bass traps and foam etc. I have a new DAW coming and want to do it up right.

It looks like yours is coming along nicely! Thanks for sharing.
