sorry if I missed this discussion but previously you could see who else was "online" when viewing the forum.
it was particularly useful after breakfast,when you are in an opposite timezone and half the world has just gone to bed..............
 

Probably a setting that was turned off during the upgrade.  I don't recall ever looking at it (though I do see the "Status:" under each avatar that shows this information.

haha-neverpost when you`ve been drinking-I missed the status thingie in the avatar.
no point replying to someone who`s offline unless you are happy to wait till tomorrow.

Interesting to scan that list...select "show all" to see what the invisible people (who outnumber registered users 30:1) are reading.
 
Surprising how many are viewing very old threads. Equally surprising is how many of them are wasting their morning here in the CH.

Hmm, here's a scary one: "GoogleBot is viewing a profile". Google has gone to the trouble of registering a user name for this forum so they can scan it, including areas reserved for registered members. There were three pages of bot entries, mostly GoogleBot, the rest Yahoo.
