So I just discovered this supposed app for smart phones(from reading a forum that covers ham radio, synthesizers politics, etc). It is a "social media" app with the expressed purpose of making contact with others for a "hookup".

So I remember the Yahoo Personals and honestly I met some nice ladies back then. It was the old fashioned way , you emailed first, met for coffee , then made a date if things worked out from there.I made some long time friendships from those days and met some interesting women. Sometimes it was used for a meat market, but most of the time it was an old fashioned way (via the digital age,LOL)

Now it seems that Tinder is instant gratification, me focused real time liaisons.
I hate to sound like an old  curmudgeon, but I am disappointed in the generation absorbed in this phenomenon.

Lowest common denominator always wins. That's why we can't have nice things.

PS - My wife and I met through MySpace back in 2007, and then started discussing via MSN Messenger.

The Lovely Lady and I met on Match.com.

She contacted me. I "rejected" her with a multi paragraph explanation. Three days later she "countered" with an equally long missive. We met 5 days later and have been together for over 9 years now. April 25, 2015 will mark 10 years.

She is the love of my life.

You too? LOL

As a matter of fact she got in touch with me after hearing my music which her ex featured on his MySpace. Upon receiving her friend request, I realized that she was the sister of my co-worker/best friend's boyfriend.

Despite her popularity, I'd never heard or seen her but she made a heck of an impression on me. But I didn't feel I was in any shape to let anyone in my life so I refused to meet her... For 2 years.

One night she was in town she even knocked at my studio window to try and get me out - but I again, turned her down.

I know...

Though I really believe it was for the better, considering where we were in our respective lives at that time...

Evidently, playing hard to get (even unintentionally) appears the way to go here...

Silly me, I've been playing hard to understand all this time!

Well, I met my wife using the tried and tested British analog method of having a few jars and chatting up a bird. Good outcome.
