The D16 effects (Toraverb, Redopter, Devastor and Decimort) have been updated to version 1.4. Minor bugfixes, most of which you won't care about if you don't use a Mac and record at 44.1KHz. I'll probably only download the Toraverb update. Says there are minor "look and feel" changes, but the UI is still just as tiny as before.

Hmm...I downloaded the file but the installer is still version 1.3.

This is the email I just received.

SilverLine maintanance updates including fixes for bugs and issues reported so far and providing better compatibility with modern machines / operational systems are comming.

As registered user of SilverLine plug-in(s) you're entitled to check out the Release Candidate versions for the update already. Just log-in to your User Area, go to the Add-ons tab and download appropriate for your computer set installler(s).

BEWARE! Before you'll proceed with installation; you need to remember this is still a Release Candidate; meaning it has passed all the beta tests, but we do not recommend yet using it in production environment.
So if you are up to installing, but still finalizing some critical projects, we do recommend to hold on until final release rolls out.

I'm a bit confused on why D16 even released this update........if there's a big warning sign (Beware) they "don't yet recommend using it in a production environment", and there's no real benefit for PC users, why release it??? Looks like they're just needing some guinea pigs for testing?

It's what's known as a "release candidate", a version that's successfully completed the beta phase and is now ready for a wider release, usually termed a "public beta".

Invariably, once hundreds or thousands of users get hold of an RC build they'll find problems that the smaller beta group missed. It's just part of the development process. Every 1.0 version you've ever bought was a release candidate the day before it was formally released.

I would have no qualms about using this release. I mean, how badly can a phase shifter mess you up?

I checked back this morning, and the installer is still named 1.3.1. I'll probably just not bother with this update for now. Now, if they'd said the UI was going to be bigger, I'd be refreshing the page hourly.

Thanks Bit......as much as I like and use the Silverline plugs regularly, I too will sit out on this update....considering I've never run into any issues in the past and no real improvement here.
