I was watching Letterman Friday night and he was talking about having a "date" with a female audience member to see the Eagles on Saturday.
He told Paul that in honor of his first date in 20 years they should play Eagles songs all night.
The producer jumped and and yelled "No! Too expensive! No!"
So they got into a discussion of how much it would cost.
Letterman- "$1000?"
Producer- "More".
Letterman- "$2000? $5000?"
Producer- "More".
Letterman- "Well, it can't be too much. Let's get the audience in on it; we'll take up a collection".
Later it was revealed that to play one Eagles song would cost $250,000!
Writer Bill Scheff- "That's only $500 per person".
