This mautovolume has my interest when that comes around. I have elephant - would the ultramaximizer give me anything more/better/an empty wallet?

MReverb is a good buy at $24.

Chances are that like me, you're already covered for reverbs. But this one's got a character that's a little different from others you might have.

It's not a particularly "realistic" reverb, but it can be modulated in interesting ways that I've not seen in any other reverb plugin, such as putting in rhythmic movement and pitch shifts. It also works well for ambiance, such as you might want with sampled drums that don't already supply room mic samples.

It's not as strong for long reverbs, IMO - ValhallaRoom is still the champ for that. But for $24 it'll be a nice alternative for when you want to change things up a little.

Probably not. It might be easier to use than Elephant. Fewer knobs. It's good, but I don't think it'd really do anything for you that Elephant can't.

MAutoVolume works like other volume-riding plugins. I've tried them all, including the newest one that recently came out, GainRider from tb-software (which has a feature-limited free version).

They all do what they say they'll do, but ultimately I decided they were too much bother. I'll stick with good ol' volume automation. But that's just my opinion - you might find it to be indispensable. And if it goes back on sale for $32 it'd be the cheapest of the lot.

Cheers, Bit. I've never used these type of auto things.

I've learned to be wary of any claims that software will do the work for you. It rarely does.

I have to admit, though, that volume-rider plugins can really help for things like double-tracked vocals, tight harmonies, and ooh/aah vocal ensembles where you don't one one part to stick out from the others.
