Does Altiverb ever go on sale? I'd probably buy it at half price.

It is a nice piece of software, isn't it? Great sound, great GUI.

I just don't know how Audio Ease manage to survive in today's market. A plug-in that's more expensive than the actual DAW software which you use to run it? A bit strange when you think of it, and realize how many very quality plug-ins are usually bundled with just about every DAW.

I wouldn't feel comfortable putting that much money on a plug-in, honestly. I've seen to many companies buy the farm or discontinue products.

Space Designer which now comes bundled with Logic was originally priced $700. I figure I have all the overpriced reverbs I need. :P  My next reverb if any will be hardware.

If I had $2500 to drop on a single piece of equipment, a Avalon 737sp could be a worthy contender. Those things love my wife's voice.

maybe you just need one of these:

I see something which looks like something ART and a pre called MP1 which I'm not familiar with... Care to elaborate?

As for the Avalon, with it's integrated EQ and opto comp, its a pretty awesome piece of gear. As I said, it seems to love my wife's voice.

I'd associate ADA with guitar. A friend of mine - brilliant guitarist - is addicted to their stuff. I remember seeing the name on a Metallica album ages ago, and in Guitar oriented magazines, but that's as much as I know about the brand, tbh.

ADA?

ok, here's a couple of quick links:

mine is an early mono version.
they quit making that version, and make their infamous stereo version now:

what cracks me up... when you click the Musician's Friend link,...the item is "no longer available"
Then the offer "similar items"...  the Manley TNT for $2700 followed by the ART Tube MP for $39.

So...the first time shopper.... "let's see.... spend $2700 or $39"...."mmmm   hard decision!!!"
