I just got the email that Komplete 10 will ship 10/1. Seriously looking it over. I have Komplete 9 but not ultimate. Is it worth it? No question...I'm leaning the same way as strikingly handsome. Since I'm looking at a computer upgrade soon I don't mind waiting for a sale, by then I should have another machine up and running.

Komplete takes some work to learn, especially if you dig deep into Reaktor...but as a song building tool I think the set of tools is amazing and worth every penny.I don't think it has any equal competition, all things considered.

I ordered mine today. Komplete 10 U that is. Don't care about the keyboard. Its cool and nice, but for that price is to high.
How large hard drive  do I need? Is it a point to have it on a SSD?

Well you do not NEED to have Komplete Ultimate on a SSD hard drive.  many of the Kontakt sample libraries will benefit from being on a SSD hard drive but Massive Synth won't or FM8.

I have all of Komplete 9 Ultimate on a 7200 RPM SATA drive and have no problems with loading or playing back samples.  I have separate physical hard drives for all my stuff which helps with speed/latency but it's definitely NOT a requirement. all depends on your computer setup. me I don't really have any issues anymore with my current computer setup - 3.5ghz, 32gig ram, 500g ssd main drive and a 2 tb drive for samples and a 2 tb drive for projects, all running 64bit plugins and daw programs.

I think I remember that Komplete Ultimate 9 full install was about 300+ gig.  Kompete 10 ultimate will be bigger cause there is now more stuff included.

The WONDERFUL thing about Komplete Ultimate is that it comes on a USB hard drive for installation.  no DVD swapping.  I put the hard drive into usb and run installer and it goes chugging away and installs everything in about 4 hours. I spent another 2 hours getting patches downloaded from service center and installed.

Cool. But to use the same drive as your projects/audio folders? I have a spare 1TB pair of HDs not in use. I could use one of them. I guest its pointless to have a backup of that drive. Ohm. I sol want this to arrive in the mail now. Oct 1. is far away. And now I'm just rambling.

You are going to love it! I got Ultimate 9 during the late June feeding frenzy. The usb drive is such a great thing. Set up what you want to instal and where and walk away. They should have the usb drive as a paid option for regular Komplete 10. I think the Abbey Road drums are better than they get credit for. I use EZ Player Pro so using so using Abbey Rd  drums w with any other midi is a breeze. Thinking about getting on a every other one Komplete Ultimate rotation. Enjoy KU10.
