I ordered mine today. Komplete 10 U that is. Don't care about the keyboard. Its cool and nice, but for that price is to high.
How large hard drive do I need? Is it a point to have it on a SSD?
Well you do not NEED to have Komplete Ultimate on a SSD hard drive. many of the Kontakt sample libraries will benefit from being on a SSD hard drive but Massive Synth won't or FM8.
I have all of Komplete 9 Ultimate on a 7200 RPM SATA drive and have no problems with loading or playing back samples. I have separate physical hard drives for all my stuff which helps with speed/latency but it's definitely NOT a requirement. all depends on your computer setup. me I don't really have any issues anymore with my current computer setup - 3.5ghz, 32gig ram, 500g ssd main drive and a 2 tb drive for samples and a 2 tb drive for projects, all running 64bit plugins and daw programs.
I think I remember that Komplete Ultimate 9 full install was about 300+ gig. Kompete 10 ultimate will be bigger cause there is now more stuff included.
The WONDERFUL thing about Komplete Ultimate is that it comes on a USB hard drive for installation. no DVD swapping. I put the hard drive into usb and run installer and it goes chugging away and installs everything in about 4 hours. I spent another 2 hours getting patches downloaded from service center and installed.
