This one's weird..

Hollis was lead singer in Talk Talk, this was his only solo record. It's mostly improvised in the studio, and goes in some very odd directions, sometimes with very beautiful results. Shame he 'retired' from music after this, I'm sure he had a lot more to share.

Do you have that one also or did you see it in my list?  Now I'll have to go listen to it again once I'm done checking out this album by some Headcase guy.

I've got it. Heard one of the tunes on the soundtrack to the movie 'Wild Bill' and bought it next day.

Finished listening to your effort James.  Impressive!  I think the last time we talked about it you only had Headless Cross (which I had heard before) and maybe one other finished...  I really enjoyed it (the instrumental songs more than the "Screw You!" one anyway!).

I then went straight into Mark's album and, I have to say, yours sounds more polished.  I forgot how "delicate" and a bit depressing it was.  I'll definitely need to put something on with energy afterwards!  Hehe...

Thanks Craig, glad you enjoyed it.

MOJO has a field where you can enter (reader's) candidates for Weirdest Album. I entered this: http://www.amazon.com/Texas-Travel-Guide-Kenneth-Johnston/dp/B0015HGSJ4/ref=sr_1_1?s=dmusic&ie=UTF8&qid=1409989072&sr=1-1&keywords=Kenneth+Johnston

Oh and how can I forget... Richard Hell and the Voidoids "Blank Generation". Unfortunately youtube only has a playlist for the album that bleeds into later stuff which isn't as good. BG is a very strange album without losing musicality though and worth a listen.

Richard Hell was actually in Television who are considered "protopunk" so basically before the Pistols broke and considered pretty influential to the whole movement.

Marquee Moon is one of my favourite albums Beep.

Blank Generation is a great song, interesting that the mix is very reminiscent of Television's 'open' sound. I've never heard the album though, must put that on my to do list.
