I used to use Imageshack. Then it started to suck, badly. And they wanted $ for their lousy service.

Moved to Photobucket and I loved it - it was so fast and easy to use.

Recently, however, they got creative and ruined it - when I do manage to actually load the site, I now get pop ups, empty grey space where my previews should be, failures to upload... Not to mention that they've reorganized the layout so that I have to re-learn where's what.

They totally MySpaced it.

There should be a law that once you've created something successful that works and got people to use it, you stop screwing with it and leave it alone save for maintenance. Just move on to the next thing and go express that gosh darn creativity of yours somewhere else... Why not take a real challenge and start from scratch if you think you've got so many good ideas? And take George Lucas with you!

Photobucket used to be alright.

The photo editor was actually quite sophisticated, but now they've dumbed it down to just a set of gimmicks and 'fun' things you can to an image.

Plus it's now so slow at doing everything, and 'clunky' with it - very unintuitive.

For some reason, it doesn't sort your images correctly according to date uploaded like it once did, and for some unfathomable reason they decided to take away the quite useful one-click copy of an image's URL.

You guys ought to send them a message requesting a way to use the "Classic" Photobucket instead of the new crap.

Same exact experience here.

I haven't tried it yet, but Imgur is on my list to check out. It looks like a decent interface - they give you a simple popup dialog with four options for uploading files: browse, drag 'n drop, paste from clipboard or enter a URL.

Thanks Bit. I'm checking it out.

I poked around Imgur a bit. But when I tried uploading a file it was just as dog-slow as Photobucket.

Positive: it allows anonymous uploads so you don't need to create an account. Not unless you ever want to find your images again, anyway.

I just tried it and it's working very fast here. I did create an account however - though it's rather weird that they didn't send an e-mail to confirm its creation.

Testing:

EDIT - well, it works. :)

Oops - uploading works fine from the "images" page, using the links on the right hand side.

But if I click that  "Upload Images" link at the top of the page, my browser freezes once I've selected files I wish to upload - I can't access the other tabs and have to force quit Safari altogether.

What about using generic cloud storage like Google Drive. I'm using it to share work files and love it.

Could be an option. Though I avoid all-things Google, there should be equivalent elsewhere.
