Hey Mike,
Welcome to Portland ... some of them grey whales have been know to go all cavewoman on a poor unsuspecting fella 
they have been know to hit a fella they like over the head with the left over bones from their lunch and drag him into one of the caves over by the cliffs

Heading north on 97 from crater lake to the gorge. How do you visit the gorge? Is it all I84 and on-off ramps or is there a side road where you can pull off anywhere that has a nice view?
