Never thought I'd see 'Easy Lover' on a Genesis album..

Oh your jealousy is so transparent James!

Ok, now I want to listen to some old Genesis...

"I'm your EZ lover!"

Yes, I know.  It's hard to imagine Easy Lover on the same release as Supper's Ready.  But it's an interesting mix of the band and their solo efforts.  What other group of people has been so prolific?  And they completely ignored Anthony Phillips.

And Bill too.  Poor guy.

I suppose they at least acknowledged the 'Calling All Stations' album, which is a pretty strong record IMO. They should have kept going with Ray Wilson, that could have been interesting in the long run, but it barely scraped into the charts in the US, so that was that.

If I was a fan I would have been very underwhelmed by the "exciting news"  tease / build up to a compilation album. Luckily I'm not at all, so it doesn't bother me. At least they didn't put 1999 sussudio on it.

Were you expecting a Revelation?

If you were new to the band (it's possible) this wouldn't be a bad collection. They cover a lot of ground with the songs they selected. Lost count of how many times I've seen those guys in Toronto, over the years. Although I'm particular to early Genesis, it was hard to stand still in an arena concert with them, circa 1991.
