Kontakt 5 uses a different library format then Kontakt 4...
Hence the reason that the 4 Libraries don't show up...

I've looked through the "import" options and do not see a way to 
convert or import them, hence my previous post about "individual
instrument" files...

Thanks Larry for confriming......I was hoping there'd be a better solution. You'd think they would've written a simple code within K5 that just scans + add older Kontakt versions into the K5 Library......I mean, how hard can that get?

I don't know of a way to convert them.
 
I think the reason that K4 files have to be opened individually in K5 is something to do with the scripting and backward compatibility - though I don't know if this is true, it's just an assumption.

I think that's the German office's version of a handshake as a thank you for purchasing from them.  
 
And also doubles as a completely unnecessary warning to 'keep in line'! - [probably just force of habit by now - ].

I know this may not help, but because K5 has some stability problems, I simply run all the libraries I can  - certainly all of my K4 libs - in K4, which is really stable, and the few libs I have that will only work in K5 I only run in K5.
It also makes it a bit easier to keep things organized - at least for me.
