So - are any of these worth $99?

I got Melo for free and was underwelmed, Hollowsun's Newtron Bomb blows it out of the water for approximatly $30. M-Tron pro has a similar list price to Mello but, IMHO, sounds a lot better and has many more tape banks.

My experience with Mello has caused me to be very cautious.

I also picked Digital Synsations for free when I bought a halfprice BFD expansion from JRR Shop but have not been at home to install it. Are they giving these away for a reason?

I think it's a promo to get people to buy more UVI
instruments.  I quite like the UVI stuff.  I got the
free Mello and the Digital Synsations.  I think they
are decent sound wise.  Maybe not feature packed,
but definitely good sound wise.  I listened to some
of the Demos like Retro Organs, etc... they sound
good.  I'm not a Keyboard Player or a "tweaker" so I
guess wouldn't be looking for the "Tweakability Factor"
in this case.  I just find a preset that sounds good and sits
in the track well...LOL

I've got quite a few of their Vintage Synth packs as I use Mach 5 more than Kontakt these days.
I got quite a bit of stuff when I changed to Mach 5 as I had been a long time pro sounds user, which got upgraded to the new format - so they did me a great deal - always found UVi brilliant to deal with, such a refreshing change from some Companies who only use two letters in their shorten names!!
Overall I like the synths and string packs - I looked at JJR and the only one that might be of interest to me is the Emulation pack - I have the Fairlight pack and I absolutely love that, already have that in a couple of songs!
I have always thought that the $149 price is too much and have told them so - $99 is worth it but I think that should be the standard price point.
If I was new to the UVi stuff and wanted to get into this, the Synths anthology or Emulator packs would be my choice.
With regard to Mello, I think they made a real error here - perhaps they were trying to put together a mellotron emulation, but it went horribly wrong - GForce and even the venerable IK products smash it out of the water.
However with a little bit of experiment, I have actually used this for creating some pretty decent sounds, albeit nothing like a Mellotron! They should have called it something else and sold it not as an emulation but a sound creation pack I think - then no one would immediately compare it to good Mellotron products and say it was totally crap!!

Oh I forgot to say, if you buy through JJR shop, don't forget to use the special codes to get further discounts in the cart - the normal codes work as I just tried them!!

Synths Anthology is really very good.  I don't hear as much about it perhaps because it's older, but it has samples from a number of later digital synths (mid/late 80's and early 90s) that you don't find in the usual "vintage synths" libraries.

The presets sound great right "out of the box".
