Thanks for the heads up, Larry. A question. Every time Melda does an update do you have to download each new plugin version or is there a way to update them all at once? It's kind of a pain to download each one. A lazy gripe, for sure.  I do love and use these plugins all the time.

southpaw - I'm with you.  I have approaching a dozen of these plug-ins.  Having them is super helpful.  I'm also glad that with his upgrade policy I can always keep them up to date at no further charge.  That's a luxury.  What's a dilemma is that he releases new versions for all of them at a pretty fast clip.  Almost like monthly it seems.  Uninstalling and reinstalling is almost starting to get annoying, but on the other hand, it's like receiving a constant stream of presents from him.  So it's hard to complain.  But it is a pain.

I have never uninstalled any Melda products prior to updating a minor release, and haven't had any problems. For a major release, e.g. version 7 to version 8, it's probably a good idea. But from 8.04 to 8.05, it shouldn't be necessary.

Having said that, I have to admit that I screwed up the 8.05 update myself this time. After installing, I pulled up some Melda plugs to check versions and was surprised to find them still at 8.04 (and one still at 8.03). What happened was I'd been too quick clicking the Next button while installing and hadn't paid attention to the install path. I keep all my Melda stuff in a separate folder called Meldaproduction, and assumed the installer was smart enough to remember the last destination. It isn't.

Cheap bastard here...

Willing for now to put up with the nag screen rather than forking out however much to license the free bundle.

Mentioned this somewhere back in the dark ages, but worth a disconnected bump.

MCompressor is an absolute gem.

Forget the presets. Check the custom box and roll your own comp.

Micronizing/customizing the front end of the comp timeline delivers one of the best noise gates, if not the best noise gate for your specific environment. This on top of being an excellent compressor.

Know this is all subjective, but regarding the threads about Revalver and P&M deals...

Fired up Melda MComp before their exquisite Tweed box. Fired up Melda before Revalver III.V.

P&M slammed Revalver to the brimstone pit with a hundred or so less knobs. Haven't done Revalver 4 but have hopes based on Larry's analysis.
