That's the essential difference between Lounge Lizard and NeoSoul Keys...one is modeled and the other is sampled. Like I said, I use LL for most everything due to it's versatility and ease of programming. But to get the "true" sound of my actual suitcase and stage Rhodes...it's Neo Soul.

Oh, I don't doubt it. If i had Neo Soul as a plug it would definately be my "go to" electric piano sound. And to be clear, LL is still great and can be inspiring under the right conditions (love the wah-style effects), but for a straight rhodes sound, I still just usually use Mr Ray.

Note that MrRay is modelled rather than sampled too.

I use Lounge Lizard 4 (and have used all the other incarnations of Lounge Lizard). I've got several others: Scarbee, Purgatory Creek, Reason's ElectroMechanical 2, and Sonic Couture's  EP73 Deconstructed. While all have their strong suits, the smoothness, articulation, and low register bark of Lounge Lizard have me coming back to it again and again. I do have one comment, however: I only use Rhodes and non-imitative settings. I've never much cared for the Wurli (I mean by this the original electro-acoustic instrument and all its imitations), though I keep hoping that I'll find a situation that is just right for it.

I'm just figuring out that MrRay73 Mark II is 32bit only.

:-(

They have some great sounding demo files.

Regarding Neo Soul keys:

Are folks speaking about

Neo-Soul Keys® for Kontakt?
Neo-Soul Keys® for UVI Player?
Neo Soul Keys® VST from Steinberg?

Mr. Ray73 and 22 being 32 bit is why I jumped to XLN AKS and Lounge Lizard. I wanted to get everything possible over to 64 bit. Addictive Keys is a CPU hog with all the bells and whistles turned on so I'm learning to like LL. I still love the GSI stuff. I agree the Lounge Lizard that comes with X3 is pretty good. My main gripe is the velocity layers are kind of finicky but it works well enough.

Hi Sid,
I assumed that Lounge Lizard, being modeled rather than sampled, didn't have velocity layer issues.

Isn't that supposed to be one of its virtues?

"Alive beneath your fingers
There is something quite immersive when a connection develops between the player and the instrument. Whether it's the perfectly smooth velocity progression or the interactive reaction to your performance, Lounge Lizard makes that connection happen."

I mis-spoke! You are correct. I meant to say the response from soft sounding to aggressive playing is not as smooth as what I would like. It seems to be either soft, mellow, up to a certain point and then when it switches it is very aggressive. There is little smoothness switching between the two. Of course, I'm still experimenting around with it. It is still very useable.

This is the X3 version. Not the full blown!
