Welp...it's been an interesting day to say the least. I'm manning the office solo while folks are on vacation until Wednesday. When I got to work this morning...no power. Phones and internet dead. Turns out it was a blown transformer and some wire shorting just around the corner and there were only about 5 or 6 of us who were affected. Supposed to be fixed by eleven...but when that rolled around and still no power I decided to get out of an uncooled building and take one of my best buds to lunch. Which I did.
When I returned the lights were on and the computers were back up. Did a little work and then did the new cake account thingy. Seemed to go fine. Only after I did it and got activated by email...I could no longer log in. I even tried starting a new account. No love. Figured it was just a glitch in the startup. As the afternoon went on I started noticing it getting warmer so I ambled down the hall to lower the thermostat a bit. Uh oh. It was already set on 73 and the temp was 81 and nothing was happening. No blow no go. Great. Went back to my office to call our hvac guys. Uh oh. Phones still dead. Had to call both hvac and phone service on my cell. Tomorrow...earliest. By now I'm really feelin the love. And the heat.
Tried logging into the forum with cell phone...yup...worked just fine. Which means our DSL is screwed too.
Tomorrow...tomorrow...tomorrow's just a day away.
PS: felt pretty lonely not being able to log in. Scared me for a minute or two. Guess I do care for you lunkheads after all:-)
