I'm trying to save the money having to buy a new MIDI keyboard controller, so any suggestions are welcome.
 
Basically my MIDI keyboard controller started sending random modulation wheel signals anytime I have a soft synth track inserted into a project--even when I'm not touching any of the controller's keys, wheels, etc. I really don't use the modulation wheel at all--so I was wondering if there is anyway within Sonar 8 that I can just cancel that signal?
 
The controller is a legacy M-Audio Radium 61 key that is connected to my DAW via USB. Please let me know if you need any additional info.

Hello. Launch Sonar and load the default project template, and then insert just one MIDI track and select it. Do you see the input meter reacting? And if you record the signal and check the date in the event list, are they really wheel signals?
Does your MIDI keyboard have the "factory reset" option? If it does, try it and see if the problem is fixed.
Or does the keyboard allow you to edit the modulation wheel settings? For example, is it possible to assign some other message to the wheel? If that's possible, does Sonar receive that newly assigned message?

I heard back from someone at M-Audio that told me how to do a reset on the controller. It's a good news/bad news thing. The good news is that it worked. That bad news is that I have to do a reset before each project session. As an example, I did a reset and it stopped sending the mod wheel signal (which when recording, do show up as events) during that project. I then closed out of that project and started another and the mod wheel signals came back. I did another reset of the controller and they were gone.

So, the reset on my controller is not a fix, but it is a workaround that I can live with.
