Robin plays herself and is offered the last contract of her life. This means the studio samples her and can digitally be a certain age which the studio can use in any way they see fit (using 'animators'). The "old" Robin can never perform in any fashion "for life". Her attorney negotiates that 'life' is 20 years.
What happens after 20 years is so unlike 200 Motels. Well 199 Motels less.
The concept reminds me of the parallels in music (sample libraries and all the AI in music making, BIAB et. al.)
Oh, and no prog musicians were harmed or mentioned in the making of this music, ecspecially Gong.
