I also did the course by Rob Papen,

I think it was decent, but it didn't go in deep enough.  I'm also probably going to try
http://www.dancemusicproduction.com/index.php/tutorials/technique/synthesis-1-analogue-synthesis

Which I heard is pretty good.

That being said what I really like about the demo so far is is makes you spend enough time, and REALLY listen to the sounds.  It's too easy when just watching a DVD's to pick up some of the concepts (a filter does this) but to not really understand it enough to start to design more complex sounds.  Basically it makes you practice more in a controlled fashion.

Anyway, I submited my student discount paperwork, so if he gives it to me I will probably work through it.

So all in all I'm very impressed so far and have been enjoying it. However, I will say this - it is overpriced. I think $75-80 would have been fairer and tues probably get a hell of a lot more sales.

Hmmm, as recently as late last year, it seems to have been priced at $99.  Currently it's listed at $129.  I wonder if there are ever sales.  I haven't been tracking this developer and have no idea what his pricing MO is.  I do think the concept is quite inspired.  I've downloaded the trial but haven't had a chance to install it yet.
